In printing industry toluene-exposure is below the threshold limit value (50 ppm); neurotoxic effects after longterm exposition might be possible.
Longsterm study over five years with 192 employees in 14 printing plants; evaluation of reduced cognitive abilities, alteration of behaviour, physical and mental complaints.
Toluene (and t.-metabolites) are not cumulated; short- and longterm exposure does not affect health.
